Nearly there...

Just finished the final bits of highlighting on the weapons etc on a few models.

Only things left are chapter shoulder pads, purity seals and a bit of a touch up.

The enemy - work continues

Started work on the details for the Necrons today... quite happy with progress so far.

Still got a shed load of Warriors to start and a couple of vehicles too... definitely considering magnetising one due to it's dual purpose and weapon options....

Here are a few models after they've had a dark wash over the highlighting. I think these are looking pretty good now.
You can also see my approach to the colour for power weapons... pretty happy with the results there.

Here's the second stage highlighting. It's come up a very light grey but I think it will balance out after a dark wash.

Highlighting black armour - stage one

This is my first experiment using dark grey as a highlight for black armour. I think the results are pretty good. The next step will be a lighter grey, much closer to white as a fine edge highlight.

The Enemy force grows!

Just a quick update on the Necron front. I've finished everything except the detail work on about a quarter of the Necrons now. I've finished assembling twenty out of the thirty warriors, still got three vehicles and a couple of elites to go.

I'm going for a much shinier look for this Necron force than usual as it will look much more natural once they are based and with the snowy display board.

The Enemy

Started work on the enemy for the Deathwatch in this instance. Love working with these guys, I'm using a three layer dry brush technique on top of a black base coat, one of the most effective methods I've found.

I thought I would start with one of my favourite units in the new codex, the ridiculously lethal Deathmarks.
